Unbelievable Icehotel Tradition Continues in Sweden

BY ALLIE EARLY

We’ve seen many incredible designs from Sweden’s Icehotel contest in Jukkasjärvi, but 2013’s edition offers sculptures even more impressive than in previous years. Created anew every year (for obvious reasons), the Icehotel is located north of the Arctic Circle and always encompasses several themed rooms from noted artists.

The room featured here is the work of Luc Voisin and Mathieu Brison of Les Ateliers de Germaine, embodying “a postcard from France.”

Inside, the room offers an outline of the Sacré-Cœur basilica, rooftops, chimneys and illuminated windows. This is the 24th year of Icehotel.
